40 Years of Asset Class Rankings Infographic

Hats off to Norbert Schlenker of Libra Investment Management who has compiled and updates a spreadsheet of various asset class returns on his website. I’ve taken the nominal returns and put them into an infographic separated into decades (70′s, 80′s, 90′, 00′s). Use the infographic anyway you like. I find it fun to pick an asset class from the legend and then trace how it has done year over year. You will find that you cannot predict the next year’s winners and this certainly builds a case for diversifying across asset classes. Data sources listed at bottom of the infographic, and click here for the original spreadsheet from Norbert’s site.

An interesting dialogue is worth comment. I feel that you should write extra on this topic, it might not be a taboo topic but usually people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers

Very interesting. That is a perfect visual explanation of the importance of diversifying your portfolio.

This is such an excellent illustration. Amazing... Thanks, Preet.
