I believe BC&#039;s requirements to purchase OM products is the lowest in the country (acknowledgement of risk factors as opposed to exempt or accredited investor restrictions) which is why OM products are probably pushed so much (also making it a ripe jurisdiction for scams and bad investment products). I am guessing Alberta buys oil and gas under the buy what you know philosophy.</description>

		<description>Thanks for the mention.  I guess that Albertans are more likely to buy investments in oil and gas, and so financial advisors sell more of them.  I suppose this is a similar effect to employees preferring stock in their employer&#039;s company over the stock of competitors.</description>
