A Lap Of The Blogs

If you are new to WhereDoesAllMyMoneyGo.com you should know that most Fridays I run a post called “A Lap Of The Blogs” in which I link to some articles of interest I’ve read in the past week. I also include a weekly “racing video” because my former life was in the auto racing industry… Enjoy!

Book Winner

First things first: I announced on Monday that I would be giving away a copy of the book “Uncontrolled Risk” by Mark Williams begin_of_the_skype_highlighting     end_of_the_skype_highlighting (professor of finance at Boston University). From 1,155 email subscribers, 829 twitter followers and 18 comments the winner (by random draw) is: Twitter Follower ShonaBertrand. The winner has been contacted and I will arrange for delivery of the book.

BONUS: Last night I interviewed the author and the podcast will be made available on Monday. Mark has also agreed to give away more copies, and I’ll post more details later. Thanks Mark!

Other Stuff…

Off to Montreal for the F1 race – one of my favourite weekends of the year! Next week I’ll be blogging from Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria and back to Vancouver before heading back home on Father’s Day – I should be able to keep to my regular blogging schedule however.

The W Network has just posted the final “webisode” of the 2010 W Expert Search (this is the thing I won 2009 to get a TV development deal with W). The format is a bit different this year as they are taking the top 10 and eliminating 4 on “webisodes” – short episodes that are shown on their website only. The top 6 will compete in 3 x 1 hour long TV shows in prime time in August of this year. Click here for the microsite and see who the Top 6 are!

Thanks for the mention. Enjoy the F1. I thought about going, but was too lazy to organize. I remember traveling all over the place, but I’ve now had my fill.

I just had to read Money Smarts’ post with its teaser of a title, “The stripper with dirty feet.” Turned out to be a nifty story from a landlord about a tenant from hell. Brings back fond memories of when I was in unversity and lived in a downtown rooming house.
