Congratulations to GENE who is the winner of Round 5 of the Money Movie Giveaway for 2008. I will be contacting Gene via email so that he may pick which movie he would like to receive.
I received a copy of they highly anticipated biography of Warren Buffett which is titled The Snowball: Warren Buffett and The Business of Life. What makes this book different from all the other books on Buffett (apart from requiring good health in order to lift the book – it’s HUGE) is that this is the first book that Warren Buffett has provided the author with personal access to him, his friends/family/colleagues and his files.
The book is 976 pages long – make no mistake, it’s a whopper. I’m going to give away a hardcover edition (lists for $39.95 CAD) to one lucky reader of this blog. How to enter? Same as always. Leave one comment on this post and that’s it! Very simple. (Bloggers can also earn an extra entry by promoting this contest on their own blogs.) Official rules below – Good luck everyone!

Your blog is first in my RSS Feed I read. Keep up the good work! I enjoy your in depth analysis of different topics!
Nice! Free book! I already own Alan Greenspan's biography, so I might as well add to the collection of biographies of "notable elderly persons"
The quote I am using the most these days is from Mr. Buffet... "Be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy". I think the only other quote I use as much is from Wayne Gretzky... "I skate to where the puck is going to be".
Just found your blog through the Million Dollar Journey - it's very cool and I will be back.
Oh and I hope I win the book!! :)
According to latest issue of Forbes magazine (Oct. 27/08 - Forbes 400 list recalculated) Warren Buffett is now the richest American. He overtook Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates as the richest American by posting an $8-billion gain to $58 billion during the period from Aug. 29 to Oct. 1, the magazine said. Gates' net worth declined $1.5 billion to $55.5 billion during the 33-day period. He had been No. 1 for 15 consecutive years.
This is all the reason I need to read this book!
I guess that's why the xsb is handily outperforming the xbb so far in 2008. Preet, please enter me in the contest.
All the best------Joe
@Patricia - I'm working on two versions of a TFSA book - one for free and a more in-depth one for those who want more meat.
@Renate - Unfortunately not at this time as I have a pile of other books I would like to go through first and I certainly won't be able to read all 900+ pages before I give it away! :) I will buy another copy one day and read it to be sure. When that day comes I'd be happy to do a review.
I wish Buffet would run for President.
He would fix this mess.
I would love to have the opportunity to own this book.
I'm sure we can all learn something that will make us a better investor by reading this authorized biography of the Oracle of Omaha. I can't resist entering your book contest.
