@ Derek Benedet - thanks for the kind words. I've said it before and I'll say it again: That financial advisors are expected to act as fiduciaries and the majority of them are payed on a commission basis is laughable.

Good luck in the new job. I believe it is always a good move when you can re-align what you believe is best with the work you do. I'm sort of in the same situation. Working in the financial industry for 3.5 years, and knowing that the industry as a whole is not looking after the clients best interests.

Preet, I don't mean to be sceptical. Claymore etfs has tried to promote fundamental indexation with very little success in terms of share volume etc.

How will your new company be any different? Good luck anyway--------Joe

Good luck in your new job Preet! I think you are trying to do what John De geoy did in his two books. His books are called the professional financial advisor 1 and 2.

Imho, the financial services industry is a joke. Most investors still think that mutual funds are free-lol. It seems that everyone in the industry shunned De geoy for trying to do the right thing.

 All the best------Joe

Wow, I get a little back log on reading my blogs for a week and you go and change careers! Gee in comparison my new job isn't even close to the change of what yours is going to be.

Well all the best to you Preet as you go forward into this exciting new role in your life. It's sounds very interesting and I can't wait to see the new blogs role out. Make sure to give us all links when you get them up and running.

Take care,
Tim

"The gap between what I think is best and where the industry stands now is huge..."

There's a chance you an make a difference and I wish you well.
But those who benefit from doing business as usual will not be treating your ideas in a friendly fashion. And that's a shame.

I hope you have the power to overcome my perception of reality with the hope they will keep promises made to you.

My personal opinion of financial planners, managers, stockbrokers etc is that they are afraid to offer any advice that contains the possibility of a lawsuit down the line. They look to protect themselves and ignore their fiduciary responsibilities.

You sound different (i.e., you have integrity) and I wish you well.
