The Premiere is Here! Million Dollar Neighbourhood on The Oprah Winfrey Network #MDNTV

I hope you’ll tune in this Sunday, January 6th at 8pm EST (5pm PST) on The Oprah Winfrey Network Canada to watch the kick-off to the new season of Million Dollar Neighbourhood.

Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not a real estate show. 100 families in the community of Bowmanville, Ontario took up the challenge to increase their collective net worth by $1 million in 10 weeks. That works out to $1,000 per family, per week. In other words, I put them through hell. (But they still invited me to join them for a massive Thanksgiving dinner. Such a great group of families!)

Each week has a new challenge. And each week, one family could be rewarded with $10,000. If the community hits their $1 million, 10 week challenge, then one family could be rewarded with the life changing sum of $100,000.

You Can Take The Same Challenges Through a Facebook App

If you’re interested in a 10 week financial boot-camp yourself, you can get the FREE Facebook app for the show and make pledges for the challenges which will mirror the show. Making and completing pledges earns you entries into a contest, where the Grand Prize is a financial consultation with Yours Truly. You can pre-register for the app HERE, and it will go live during the show’s premiere (did I mention it was THIS Sunday at 8pm EST?). If you register fast enough, there is an early bird prize for an e-reader. So don’t delay, and sign up, people!

    Hi Preet,

    I live in Bowmanville and I admire all of the families who took part. Your show is wonderful. My family and I watch. What valuable financial lessons you taught these families. I recently started using Mint to help track our expenses and I was shocked at the money I was spending unecessarily. What a difference small changes can make towards your financial goals.
